Prep:
Take a clean small brush to remove any dust from mushroom and cut off any substrate or dark spots. Then tear the mushroom into roughly 2 tablespoon in volume sized chunks.
Squeeze the water out of the mushroom chunks using your hand. Can discard that water.
In a flat bottom pan/bowl add the flour, corn meal, and spices; mix them together and set aside. In another similar pan add the milk, and egg; mix together.
For each squeezed piece of mushroom you will coat in the milk mixture then coat with the flour/spice mixture and set aside for cooking.
Cook:
Air Fry:
Place on air fry rack and spray coat lightly with your oil of choice. Air fry at 450 for ~25min or until golden brown
Pan Fry or Deep Fry:

Prep your deep fryer or a large stove top pan with few inches of your frying oil of choice. Fry until golden brown.
Let cool in frying rack or in some paper towels. Enjoy
NOTE: Can substitute other spices for other flavors, just be cautious of the amount of salt used. Mushrooms absorb more salt then meat.
NOTE: Can substitute the dry batter for a wet batter recipe just ensure the salt content is not too high.
NOTE: Can substitute panko for corn meal for a different texture.
